So the 3 of us were in Sri Lanka from September till mid-October. We all gained a basic level of understanding of the IFS product across all functional areas. It was great to interact with the guys out in Sri Lanka as a lot of them are involved in R&D & have been involved with the product as it evolves over time.
After being back we’ve been involved with a mock project where we are playing the role of a core customer team and are being consulted by last year’s graduates. We have been given 2 streams each, where we are leading 1 stream and supporting on another. These are as follows;
Cassie – Leading Finance, Supporting on PDM
Ben – Leading PDM, Supporting Service & Maintenance
Harry – Leading Manufacturing, Supporting Projects
Having this level of exposure, especially in our lead areas has allowed us to increase our functional and business knowledge across Apps 9. The final part of this mock project will result in us conducting a full AST over 2 days at the end of January. The project has helped us understand both from a customer & consultant perspective what is involved in the initial stages of implementation & deal with the challenges that most customers will face.
Otherwise the 3 of us are getting on really well – we still very much feel part of the IFS organisation. For us the next milestone is to do as well as possible on the AST & after that start going on customer sites to see the product functioning in day to day business operations.
That's all for now!
